I broke it. Working on it. Looks like the new stuff will be going in sooner than I'd planned unless I can get it back together again. —Fritz

Superior
The Vance High School Symphonic (and more) Band earned a rating of Superior (I) at the South Central District Bandmasters Association's 2007 High School Festival in Grade IV competition. A close look at the results shows that it was a perfect sweep—straight 1's from all four judges.

Nice job, folks. Mr. Carrington, thank you for all your work bringing this band back to where it should be. Kids, wow. Just wow. Your webmaster has never doubted you had it in you: It's nice that you have had this chance to see it (again) for yourselves. Congratulations.

The end of band camp pot luck dinner will be held Friday, August 18 at the Chestnut pool. Directions:

  1. Leaving the school entrance, take a left onto IBM Drive.
  2. Follow IBM Drive Until the Intersection at W.T. Harris and IBM Drive, then go left at the light. (Will pass a Harris Teeter and Eckerd’s on the left hand corners)
  3. Go through that light and continue on W.T. Harris Blvd for approximately 2 miles.
  4. You will make a right onto Sugar Creek Rd at the next light (the right after you past Cheshire Place Shopping Center)
  5. Once you make the right onto Sugar Creek Rd you will pass a Citgo Gas Station followed by a Bloom’s grocery store. Continue on Sugar Creek Rd. and you will cross through the lighted intersection of Sugar Creek and David Cox Rd.
  6. There are 2 entrances to Cheshunt off this road. The second one is easier to access because once you turn into the neighborhood you do not need to make any more turns. Past the first entrance to Cheshunt on the left and make a left into Cheshunt’s 2nd entrance (This is BROWNE’S FERRY RD). The Swim and Clubhouse entrance is off of this road.
  7. The Clubhouse is on the right hand side of the road about .3 mi from the entrance of the neighborhood; you can’t miss the entrance. You will see a playground, volleyball court, and tennis courts from the road and the pool is behind the Tennis courts. There is only a small parking lot so if it is full you make park on the street outside of the clubhouse.

Watch for an email from Darlene Lozano with further details.
