subject: My Resignation as Booster President

Effective immediately, I am stepping down from the role of President of the Vance High School Band Boosters.

I assumed the position (this time around) at Mr. Carrington’s personal request. As he has made it very clear to me that our friendship has ended, I no longer feel it is appropriate for me to hold a leadership role in the organization.

I will wrap up the fruit sale details and place the order, as promised. I will also plan to coordinate the delivery to the school, unless the Boosters would rather find someone else to do that. And I will absolutely honor my promise to Skillet’s Mom to help transport their large order. If I have forgotten other specific promises or obligations, please do bring them to my attention, and I will make sure they are honored.

Sometime over the next couple of weeks, I will wrap the web site up for handing off. Except for small quarterly and annual payments to the hosting provider, the site should pretty well run itself for a while. I will communicate payment information to the Treasurer and site host when I have those details neatly gathered. If you have (or know someone who has) the technical skills to manage a hosted site running cPanel and WordPress, please contact the Director.

I believe my efforts, contributions, and seven marching seasons’ dedication speak for themselves. It is certainly with mixed emotions that I resign. I intend to remain an active parent–pit crew, chaperone, whatever rank-and-file effort is needed–but it is no longer my place to try to shape or strengthen the program itself.

Thank you to everyone who has helped make this experience so incredibly rewarding. I do sincerely wish you the best of luck.
